Facial Gua Sha
Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese therapy that involves scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool to improve circulation and promote healing. The benefits of Gua Sha include reduced muscle tension, relief from pain, improved circulation, and decreased inflammation. During a session, Rachel applies oil to the skin and uses a tool to gently scrape in long, firm strokes, typically on the back, neck, and shoulders. After the session, you may see red or purple marks on the skin, which usually fade within a few days, and you may experience relief from pain and a sense of relaxation. Rachel practices a unique form of Facial Gua Sha, which is gentle and effective to bring circulation and nutrients back to the skin and muscles in the face and neck. This allows for relief of symptoms related to TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction) headaches and jaw and tooth pain. It also helps relax the muscles under the skin for less wrinkles due to tension and plumper, firmer skin.
